In trading, commodities are transported from one country to another, it is necessary to ensure that there are no harmful insects that can affect the importing country. This is not easy given the characteristics and resistance/hiding ability of insects in the cargo. This is why the fumigation of imported commodities is necessary, combined with good management to avoid the appearance of pests.
In addition, several accompanying services are often required to ensure that the customs clearance, loading, and unloading of commodities are carried out in a timely and safe manner.

Fumigation can be most generally defined as the action of releasing and dispersing a toxic chemical that reaches a targeted pest in the gaseous state.
