What is ISPM 15?


ISPM 15 is an international standard for wood packaging materials used in global trade. Wooden pallets, crates, and boxes (made from natural wood) are typically required to be treated to reduce the risk of carrying pests and harmful organisms, and must bear an IPPC mark as proof of compliance with the standard.

  • Station Managers/Regional Supervisors assign tasks to technicians via FumiApp (VFC’s internal application used for management, monitoring, and progress tracking).
  • Technical staff conduct on-site surveys, including goods, packaging, insects, shipment condition, port of destination, and chemical selection.
  • Each fumigation type requires a different treatment plan; customers may contact VFC for suitable consultation.
  • After the survey, technicians update information on FumiApp and discuss treatment options with Station Managers or Technical Department leadership.
Step 3: Preparation of materials, equipment & manpower

Step 4: Fumigation execution as scheduled by customer
